Apple TV 2.3 Software Update Released Yesterday

Apple TV, the center of your media rich universe that encompasses your High Definition TV and entertainment system, just got better!

The update includes a number of new features.

  • Music can be streamed using AirTunes to Airport Express speakers or other Apple TV’s in your house
  • Third party remote controls can now be used with Apple TV
  • Movie, TV shows, Podcasts and Music video playlists can now be seen on Apple TV
  • Volume control support in Music

The new Update can be obtained for free by selecting the “Update Software” option under Apple TV’s settings menu.

 

iTunes 8.0.2 Update Released Today

This update reports performance and stability improvements and a number of bug fixes including

  • Addresses a quality issue creating MP3s on some computers
  • Fixes a connectivity issue with the iTunes Store when using some internet proxies with Mac OS X
  • Improves accessibility with VoiceOver, the full featured screen reading technology for the visually impaired

The iTunes 8.0.2 update come a day before the rumored release of the iPhone Firmware 2.2 update.
