Happy Holidays and Happy New Year from AppleHits

As 2011 draws to a close, I would like to wish everyone a Happy Holiday and a great New Year! This year has seen the arrival of many terrific products, including two incredible ones from Apple, namely the iPad 2 and the iPhone 4S. Unfortunately, the passing of the great tech visionary and cofounder of Apple, Steve Jobs, has left me and many others with heavy hearts as 2011 comes to an end. But with all endings come new beginnings and 2012, I think, will see Apple produce some of its most compelling and innovative products, once again.

The legacy that Steve Jobs left Apple with upon his passing will continue to stay true to what the cofounder felt was important in innovating and iterating on cutting edge technology. Many products that are yet to be announced in the product pipeline, at least in the short term of two to four years, will have his indelible mark on them. The iPad, iPhone, MacBook Pros, etc., are rumored to be refreshed,  perhaps with similar designs as those that their present counterparts currently possess or with radical new changes and improvements. Either way, the experience of using them and other current devices, through app add-ons and free software updates/ upgrades should keep people entertained and engaged for the foreseeable future.

The Post-PC era will continue to transform all present conventional thoughts and business models and forge new ones that are tailored to what consumers want and expect now that Apple has shed light and raised the bar with respect to the user experience and attention to detail. Already, terrific new companies and products are coming to market with new attributes such as Nest, and others have changed to adapt to the future and stave off their impending downward spiral into obsolescence like ADT. More and more products will integrate with each other and intelligently learn how to accommodate our needs with minimal effort on our part, thanks to advanced technology that will be unleashed over the next few years.

It’s a pretty exciting time to be living in and to be an Apple consumer. During his commencement address at Stanford in 2005, Steve Jobs said that “Death is the single best invention of life. It is life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new.” And so, as we say goodbye to Steve Jobs, may he rest in peace, the beginning of a new year has gotten me pretty excited about the future and its new possibilities that will unfold before our eyes.

From all of us at AppleHits, we wish all of you a Happy and Safe Holiday Season and a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year in 2012!
